What we do
St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara’s educational contribution laid a strong
foundation for a just society, which led to the conception of Carmel CMI Public School, Puliyanmala, in 2003. The Carmel CMI Public School, Puliyanmala, began its journey from st Antony Carmel house with an office in the year 2003. Carmel CMI Public School, started in 2003, later affiliated to the cbse, is managed by the Kottayam St. Josephs Province of the religious congregation
of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate with the motto “life in the light of truth.”
The school is directly under the management of Carmel Vidyapeeth Educational and Charitable Trust, consisting of a team of educationalist. The school is situated in a serene beautiful atmosphere, established by enthralling tea gardens and enchanting hilly sides, and tranquil surroundings.
The Congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate is the first
indigenous religious order of Catholic priests and brothers, founded in Kerala in 1831, by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara and his associates. The congregation took up education as a service to the nation in general and to the Catholic community in particular from the time of its founding fathers.

Carmel's academic ethos is to provide quality education in a cordial environment where every child is valued and respected. We use innovative teaching methodologies that will build a foundation for lifelong learning and are strongly based on creating space for exploring one’s innate talents and providing the right platform to showcase them. School days at Carmel are not just about academics. Our seasoned teachers provide each student with individualised attention and try to get to know each student personally, look for their interests, and encourage them to excel in their area of interest. We place a lot of emphasis on our children's physical fitness as well. Our knowledgeable sports faculty makes sure that students get proper exercise.

The previous year may have had its share of difficulties, but those who view difficulties as chances undoubtedly have a long way to go. We gain knowledge and improve our problem-solving skills with each passing year. We are aware that it is easier said than done, but the issue can be resolved by looking at the glass as half full rather than half empty.
